Ras Sudr is a small seaside resort town, popular with people from Cairo, due to its proximity to the capital. The resorts are situated northe and south of the town, that still feels like a rustic and sleepy Egyptian town.

Accommodation

There is plenty of accommodation in and around Ras Sudr, but most cater to package resort guests. However, in the town itself, there are two pretty good hotels, Hotel Ceceil and Hotel Dolphin, that can be recommended for an overnight stay. Prices start at 200LE for a double, but barter hard and you will be able to bring that down to 150LE, including breakfast.

Both hotels are in the 'hotel zone', which is a giant, empty park two hundred metres west of the main road.

Shopping

Ras Sudr has a lively small-town centre with plenty of supermarkets, fruit and veggie stores and a bakery.

Drinking

All hotels have a café in the lounge and there are a few tea stalls in the town centre.
